We provide support and education services to incarcerated parents across Minnesota. Minneapolis, MN 55418 National Prison doula training: October 19-21, 2018 This fall the MnPDP hosted a National Prison Doula Training where prison doulas, or those interested in practicing as a prison doula, from various states in the US, Canada and Mexico were able to learn from each other and from those working within the intersections of full-spectrum reproductive health, justice for incarcerated people, and health policy. The Minnesota Prison Doula Project (MnPDP) was founded in 2008. We provide support and education services to incarcerated parents across Minnesota. We work inside correctional facilities, offering doula services, prenatal & parenting education, individual peer counseling, supportive in-person visitation, reentry support groups. In December 2018, the APBP board voted to approve an acquisition by Ostara Initiative, Inc., the home of the Minnesota Prison Doula Project, to create long-term stability and sustainability for our work in Alabama and elsewhere.
